Fire devours 3 houses at Pasighat, Boleng
PASIGHAT, Oct 27: Advisor to Chief Minister, Bosiram Siram has expressed shock and sadness over the unfortunate fire accident of Yapgo village, Pasighat where house of one Roshlin Boko was gutted completely on Sunday night at around 9pm.
Siram along with ADC Deepak Shinde, ZPC Kaling Dai, DDMO G Tsomu and local leaders visited the victim family and handed over Rs.5000 on behalf of the district administration. Siram sought a detailed report on the unfortunate incident and further informed that he has already taken up the issue with the concern authorities for follow up actions. At the same time, Siram appealed the people to remain alert and be cautious as fire accident occurs frequently in Pasighat and called upon the administration, PRIs, civil societies, NGOs and student unions to create awareness on fire mishaps amongst the rural people. Meanwhile at Boleng, houses of one Tajir Paboh, a teacher and Matdang Tatin have been completely gutted in a fire accident while house of Tagam Komut, BEO was partly damaged on Monday afternoon at around 2pm in the fire.

Case registered against Chit Fund Company
ITANAGAR, Oct 27: City Police has registered a fraud case against Chit Fund Company 'Jiyo Aur Jine Do' functioning from a market complex here.
A case under section 120(B)/420 IPC was registered at Itanagar Police Station against the chit fund company on receipt of complaints of duping/defrauding crores of rupees from its customers of Itanagar area, informed Capital SP Devender Arya.
The office of the chit fund company here has been closed down a year back and the staffs are absconding, the SP informed.
SP Arya appealed to the customers of "Jiyo aur Jine Do" who opened their accounts at Itanagar branch to submit their claim along with photo copy of the passbook of account before OC Itanagar Police Station on or before November 10. The investigating agency is facing difficulties to ascertain the identity of the deceived customers due to lack of proper records, the SP added.

Governor's intervention sought
ITANAGAR, Oct 27: The Arunachal Students Federation (ASF) has called for the Governor's intervention towards the alleged rampant misuse of public money by the ruling government.
In a memorandum submitted to the Governor, the ASF expressed fear that Chief Minister might misuse public money to save his Government.
Alleging that the state government is pressurizing the government officials to pay all pending bills of PDS contractor from the upfront payment made by private hydro power developers, the Federation said the upfront money should be used for developmental work.
The memorandum appealed the Governor to intervene and give necessary direction to the finance department to not misuse such public money.
Karbak meets Food and Civil Supplies officials
ITANAGAR, Oct 27: Parliamentary Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Nyamar Karbak today inspected the Directorate office of Food and Civil Supplies.

RGU to host NEEA conference

DM bans carrying of lethal weapons in Tezu
ITANGAR, Oct 27: Lohit District Magistrate in an executive order prohibited carrying of licensed fire arms and lethal weapons, like dao, knife, khurki etc by any individual with them or in their vehicle (s) within the jurisdiction of the District Magistrate with immediate effect. The prohibitory order has been issued as a precautionary measure to prevent any kind of untoward incident during the 14th Tadar Tang Memorial State Level Football Tournament scheduled to be conducted at Tezu from November 2 to 12.
It further directed to close down all liquor shops, including wholesalers on November 11 for Diwali.
The prohibitory order will remain in force until further order.

ITANAGAR, Oct 27: UD, Tourism Minister Pema Khandu has resigned from Nabam Tuki ministry. In his scathing resignation letter to the Chief Minister, Pema wrote "I am to bring to your knowledge that the Government under your leadership has miserably failed to live upto the expectations of the general public of Arunachal Pradesh. There is no democracy within the Party MLAs nor political stability due to which governance in the State is at its lowest".

Assault on traffic police personnel on the rise
ITANAGAR, Oct 27: At least three traffic Police personnel have been assaulted this month alone.
The head constable (HC) of traffic cell, Naharlagun police station, DR Yadav, was yesterday brutally attacked by one Marchu Mosi. The incident took place near Max Mart Shopping Mall, Naharlagun. As per the Naharlagun police source, Mosi who drives auto reacted violently when Yadav caught him for wrong driving.
"There was massive traffic jam at Naharlagun and HC Yadav was trying to manage the traffic. Instead of cooperating with traffic officials, the accused assaulted head constable," informed officer in charge of Naharlagun PS.
The police have arrested the accused and he has been sent to three days police custody. The unfortunate assault on traffic police officials are increasing in the state capital. In the last one month only, several cases of assault on traffic officials have been reported.

City police bust drug gang, recovers 135 kg cannabis

ITANAGAR, Oct 27: The political crisis in the state refuses to die down with Congress MLA from Bameng, Kumar Waii expressing grave disappointment with the leadership of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki. Waii, who was recently dropped from the Tuki ministry, informed that he is going to approach Congress High Command for leadership change in the state. He said that a decision on the subject might take place after Bihar election.

"I trusted him with his leadership but everybody is now aware of his mismanagement and the economic problem that the state is facing," he said stating that he had a major role to play in the making of Nabam Tuki, the CM.
He attacked the CM for holding responsible the Centre and the NITI Aayog for poor financial management in the state and said that fund comes every month before 4th. "It is wrong for him to blame the Centre and the NITI Aayog for the financial mismanagement in the state. The fund comes every month before 4th that too twice the amount that was paid earlier but where does the money go? There is no accountability," he said mocking on the fact that Tuki also holds the post of finance minister in the state. He alleged that there has been no AOP for the last two years.
"Even the high command knows that he cannot run the government," he lamented.
He blamed the financial crisis for the increasing law and order problem in the state.
Criticizing the CM for the recent change in his cabinet, he said, "If you cannot take care of your own ministry, how will you run a government?" He opined that Tuki should resign from his post.
Waii, however, refrained from sharing any info on who their new leader will be and said he is only concerned with the change in leadership.
He denied that the rebel group is heading towards BJP and said that there would be no change in the party.
He further appealed community based organizations to refrain from involving in politics.

Aboh sanctions funds for Panchayat blocks in Tirap, meets HoDs
ITANAGAR, Oct 27: Minister for DoTCL and Mining Tirong Aboh has announced sanctions for all the seven panchayat blocks in Tirap district from DoTCL for the development of the blocks.
Earlier, all the ZPMs including Tirap ZPC Chawang Lowang had called on him at Khonsa on October 26th and apprised him about the pressing problems of the PRI bodies and the district as a whole.
The minister requested the ZPC and the ZPMs to ensure proper implementation of the various schemes under their blocks and urged them to monitor and supervise the work so that the schemes actually benefit the people. Aboh also sought for the HoDs and other staff to remain in the station as this was the working season. He assured all possible help and support from his side saying that he would address the problems of all the Panchayat Blocks without any discrimination.
The ZPMs Lengang Lowang, Windong Sawin, Ngamcha Kamhua, Ngilang Songthing, Sontung Lowang Bangsia and Ngoke Hodong urged the minister to address the multifarious problems facing the district. Discussions were held on development matters pertaining to the district.
Meanwhile, in a separate meeting with the Heads of Departments (HoDs) of the district at the DC's conference hall today, Aboh exhorted the officers of various departments to work in coordination to ensure proper implementation of the government schemes.
He said that the Chief Minister had asked him to convey to the HoDs of Tirap regarding sanction of Rs 1 crore each for Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts under DoTCL for speedy development of the three districts. The fund has been sanctioned to address the need base problems of the district, the minister added and asked the departments to utilize the funds judiciously and in a transparent manner.
While appealing to the officers to extend their full cooperation to the state government, Aboh said that the benefits of the government schemes must percolate down to the poorest of the poor. He assured that there would be no dearth of funds for the development of TCL. The minister further urged the work departments to contribute towards renovation and improvement of the lone District Hospital.

ITANAGAR, Oct 27: A daylong Legal Awareness cum Legal Aid Camp was organised for the Head Gaon Burah and Goan Burahs by the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) in coordination with Apatani Youth Association, Ziro (AYA) and District Administration at Hapoli on October 26, 2015.
The camp was attended by nearly 118 members.
Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner, Kangki Darang addressing the camp stated that the training programme for the HGB/GBs would go on a long way in helping the HGB/GB members in the proper adjudication of justice in the district and he further called upon the members present to discharge their duties fairly.

During the day long programme, talks on the overview of the Assam Frontier Regulation, 1945, which included discussions on role of GB in delivery of justice, post judiciary separation status were deliberated. The resource persons also spoke on the Legal Aid, services provided by the Legal Services Authorities in the districts.
Judicial Magistrate First Class, Habung Tangu spoke on Lok Adalats and its importance in the context of large number of litigations in the state. Advocates Taba Rosy and Tanyang Tado spoke on plea bargaining under the Criminal Law.
APSLSA, OSD, Dani Belo spoke on Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Scheme, 2011 and procedures to avail the same.
The training ended with the interaction programme wherein clarifications raised by the participants were addressed to by the resource persons.
Anti Tobacco School Health programme in East Siang
ITANAGAR, Oct 27: The District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC), Pasighat in collaboration with Volunteer Health Association Arunachal Pradesh (VHAAP) recently conducted an Anti Tobacco School Health Programme in East Siang district.
The objective of the programme was to create awareness among the school going children about ill effects of tobacco usage and consumption of tobacco products. A total of 15 schools are targeted in the programme out of which 9 schools have been covered. A total of 2356 students and 61 teachers from various schools participated in the programme conducted from 15th October 2015 which concluded today.
The resource persons highlighted COTPA on 2003 and also stressed on Section 6 (a) and 6 (b) in which Sale of Tobacco products to persons under the age of 18 years is prohibited and sale of the tobacco products are prohibited in an area within radius of 100 yards of any educational institution respectively. Resource person also focused on psychological effects on consuming tobacco products and how it is detrimental to young minds.
The resource persons were Psychologist, Dagrik Gara, Social Worker, Dani Yakang, Consultant, Nani Sunia and DEO Benzamin Tapak, while the programme was initiated by DMO cum Member Secretary, District Tobacco Control Cell, East Siang, Pasighat Dr. M. Perme.

Enough of beef controversy
The beef controversy has potential to damage the social fabric of the nation. Just as nation was recovering from the shocking killing of a Muslim man at Dadri over allegation that his family consumed beef, now Kerala house at Delhi is being targeted by fringe elements. Yesterday Delhi police along with member of Hindu Sena raided Kerala House. The fringe group alleged that beef was being served at Kerala house. However, house authorities clarified that only buffalo meat is served, which is not illegal and not the cow meat as alleged by the Hindu Sena.

Unfair conduction of exam
Dear Editor,
Through your daily, I would like to let the people know about the recent PWD J.E Exam and how it was unfairly conducted by the department itself.
There was no restriction of mobile Phones inside the examination hall whereas it was clearly instructed “mobile phones and other electronic gadgets like laptop, Tab, iPod, smart watch etc will not be allowed inside the examination hall”.
But in front of examiners, candidates easily used mobile phones, availed the internet and examiners acted like they were blind and sometime examiners itself answered the questions.

Now, the question is that how and on what basis they will measure the knowledge of deserving candidates? What is the use of conduction of exam if it not conducted fairly? And all credit goes to PWD as they really are doing work for Public!

Was the dinner worth it?

After the unfortunate death of N. Tingkhatra, Gabriel D.Wangsu was elected as the MLA of 58th Kanubari Assembly, who was considered by the Congress party as the best person to represent the constituency.
But we were shocked to know that Wangsu resigned from the state Assembly which was accepted by the Assembly speaker. We just wanted to know how come an elected representative on whose shoulder the entire responsibility of Kanubari constituency is vested could simply give away his resignation in a dinner party of Chief Minister.
Was it worth for Wangsu to give away an MLA seat for a dinner?
Nabam Tuki came to Kanubari during the election campaign to seek vote for Wangsu
with lots of fan fare. What happened, Mr. Chief Minister, to your favorite candidate
for whom you have invested a lot to make him win the by-
